Garden Route Back & Neck Centre

Services
The Garden Route Back and Neck Centre is dedicated to helping you improve your pain through the Documentation Based Care (DBC) approach.
Documentation Based Care (DBC) is a global leader in functional rehabilitation treatment protocols and equipment for musculoskeletal conditions, that are utilized and operated in multidisciplinary treatment centres. Originating in Finland, the DBC Program focuses on the conservative management of back and neck conditions, with the primary goals of reducing your pain, restoring your quality of life and reducing the risk of surgery where possible.
Our program is designed to achieve several key objectives:

Pain Management
We aim to reduce pain levels through movement (exercises, stretches and physiotherapy)

Improved activities of daily living
Our approach is geared towards enhancing your overall functionality and quality of life, allowing you to regain confidence with your daily activities.

Improved Back and Neck motion
Through active rehabilitation, we work to restore normal spinal range of motion, promote joint flexibility and increase muscle strength and endurance.

Decreased fear of movement
By adopting a "learning-by- doing" approach to movement, we become less fearful of movement.
Meet the Team
Our dedicated team of professionals is committed to working collaboratively with you to help you achieve the best possible outcomes. We believe in a holistic approach to your well-being and are here to support you throughout your journey to a more pain-free life.

DOCTOR
The doctor assesses the specific area of pain in your back and neck to rule out any surgical risk factors. This evaluation ensures that you, as the patient, can safely undergo treatment through exercise and physiotherapy.
The doctor also decides on the duration of treatment needed to restore and improve your condition. This determination is based on the use of questionnaires, range of motion measurements via DBC machines, and neurological assessments to diagnose the source of your pain.

BIOKINETICIST
Biokinetics is a field of exercise science that focuses on improving physical functioning through tailored exercise regimens. Biokineticists often work with individuals who have medical conditions or injuries, striving to improve their overall health and well-being. Within the DBC network the biokineticists evaluate your range of motion on the DBC equipment. Prescribe rehabilitative exercises and monitor your progress.

PHYSIOTHERIPIST
Employing a variety of treatment modalities to address your unique needs such as manual therapy, or electrical stimulation and dry needling.
Individualizing treatment to target muscle stiffness, trigger points, and specific areas of concern.
Enhancing circulation and promoting healing processes.
Improving your range of motion and reducing inflammation.
Addressing gait and balance issues, as well as managing neurological deficits.
